Dublin Literary New Music Trail 2011

Dublin Literary New Music Trail 2011

Sven Anderson and Karen Hennessy talk about the Dublin Literary New Music Trail, which runs until 31 August 2011.

CMC's Dublin Literary New Music Trail 2011 is a celebration of the rich connections between Irish writers and Irish composers and is presented in recognition of Dublin's UNESCO City of Literature status. The trail consists of a main trail at the literary parade in St Patrick's Park, Dublin as well as an extended trail across South Georgian Dublin.

The main trail takes in five alcoves along the literary parade, each of which is dedicated to a particular Irish writer - Oscar Wilde, W.B.Yeats, James Joyce, Brendan Behan and Samuel Beckett. At these alcoves open air music can be triggered when in close proximity to the alcove.

The extended trail consists of six additional locations across South Georgian Dublin associated with Irish writers. The music associated with this trail can be listened to with a smartphone using a free layar application for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and Android devices.

Further information on the Dublin Literary New Music Trail 2011 is available from www.cmc.ie/musictrail.
