Andrew Synnott was born in County Meath. He was educated in St Finian’s College, Mullingar, and Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a music degree in 1992.

As a musician he has worked with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Opera Ireland and Opera Theatre Company. He is a founder and artistic director of the Crash Ensemble.

Andrew Synnott’s compositions have been performed in many countries including Sweden, France, Great Britain, Finland and the USA. He has received commissions from Christ Church Cathedral Choir, the Association of Irish Choirs and Irish Modern Dance Theatre.
