Emma O’Halloran is a composer based in Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A., whose work explores the combination of electronic and acoustic instruments.

Her work has been performed by Concorde, Crash Ensemble, Orkest de Ereprijs, Yurodny, Dublin Laptop Orchestra and the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, and featured at festivals including the International Young Composer’s Meeting and Ljubjlana International Computer Music Festival. In 2012, she was the recipient of the Jerome Hynes Young Composers’ Award.

Emma O’Halloran holds a BMus International from the National University of Ireland Maynooth and the University of Miami, Florida, along with an MA in Music Composition from NUI Maynooth. She also holds a Diploma in Orchestral Conducting from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Later this year, she will commence doctoral studies in composition at Princeton University.

Projects for 2013 include a piece for cellist, Kate Ellis, and a large-scale work for Prima String Quartet.
