Alpine Adventures for Gerald Barry on 17 March

The London Sinfonietta presents a programme with the title 'Alpine Adventures' in London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank Centre, on Wednesday 17 March.

It features the London premiere of Gerald Barry’s Beethoven which puts to music Beethoven’s sole surviving love letters to a mysterious ‘immortal beloved’. Passion, heartache and longing are brought to life by Barry’s unique brand of witty, sensuous music.

The programme also features the UK premiere of Richard Ayres’ No 42 (In the Alps) which tells the story of how a young trumpeter journeyed into the mountains to find love.

A pre-concert talk with Gerald Barry and Richard  Ayres takes place at 6.15pm.
