In the Irish epic, ‘Buile Suibhne’ (Mad Sweeney) Christian and pagan cultures clash. The ‘Sweeney’ epic is the trigger for many of Frank Corcoran’s compositions including his third wind quintet, ‘Sweeney’s Wind Cries’ and the electro-acoustic ‘Sweeney’s Farewell’.
