Ian Wilson's Double Trio was written for three improvisers and three classical musicians as part of a one-year composer residency in DĂșn Laoighaire-Rathdown County during 2008. The work is inspired by a number of interviews conducted by the composer with residents of the Glencullen area, Ireland, who discussed how they felt about the changes the area had undergone during the Celtic Tiger economic boom. The intention was to create an exciting and inventive musical work and at the same time attempt to paint a musical picture of life in Glencullen. |
