The music on this recording is a reflection of the evolving nature of traditional Irish music. All the tunes were composed by and for traditional Irish fiddle players from the mid 20th Century, so they are contemporary, yet traditional. Composer and guitarist David Flynn has specially arranged their music for solo guitar for this recording. He also includes 'The Mahatma of the Glen', a new arrangement of three tunes from his larger composition 'Music for the Departed'.
