Composer Lab 2022 Seán Ó Dálaigh

Participant composer Seán Ó Dálaigh introduces his piece 'Ich ruf zu dir...' (2022) composed for symphony orchestra as part of the Composer Lab professional development programme.

Recorded at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, Seán shares his experience of the programme which began in 2019, transitioning through the Covid pandemic to culminate in a final live performance and RTÉ lyric fm broadcast which will take place on 9 January 2023.

Composer Lab is a professional development initiative delivered in partnership by the Contemporary Music Centre, National Symphony Orchestra and RTÉ lyric fm. The programme is aimed at composers who have had limited opportunities to write for symphony orchestra. Under the mentorship of CMC composer David Fennessy, participating composers are provided with a creative and open environment in which to deepen their understanding of writing for the forces of a symphony orchestra.
